British Columbia: Home

British Columbia began automobile registration in 1904 and province-issued plates in 1913.  1915-17 plates featured the provincial coat-of-arms, and 1952-54 plates and tabs depicted a totem pole inside a maple leaf.  Plates in 1958 were shiny gold and noted the province's "CENTENARY".  The current issue of plates started in 1985.
